Our nails grow with about 3 mm per month. A nail completely lost recovers within 4-6 months. Nails grow faster in summer, or during pregnancy. To help nails grow faster and healthier, you can use one of the following natural treatments:
- Treatment with cayenne pepper
Boil 10 tablespoons of water with a tablespoon of oil or glycerine and half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper. After the solution has cooled, apply it to the nail and allow to act for 15-20 minutes, then rins with warm water. This treatment should be performed once a month.
- Treatment with lavender oil
Another natural treatment for nail accelerating is the mixture made with 2 teaspoons of olive oil and six drops of lavender oil. Apply it on the nails, leave for 5-10 minutes and then remove with lukewarm water. This treatment can be applied 2-3 times a week.
- Olive oil
If your nails break easily or fall off, you must avoid acetone or formaldehyde-containing compounds and the chemicals from cleaning products. Once or twice a week is recommended to keep your nails in extra virgin olive oil for 10 minutes and in the end massage also the cuticles with this oil.
- Treatment with honey
Mix the following ingredients: 2 egg yolks, 3 tablespoons of milk and a spoonful of honey. Keep your nails in this mixture for 15 minutes. Egg proteins and calcium from milk helps strengthen the nails.
Tips: To stimulate nail growth, the diet is also very important. That’s why you should not miss:
– Food sources of iron: meat, liver, nuts, candied fruits, green leafy vegetables (spinach, parsley).
– Zinc (zinc deficiency can cause small stains and white spots on the nails) can be found in: nuts, parsnip roots, celery, garlic, whole grains, chicken or turkey, seafood.
